- I try to keep things interesting for the student by focusing on teaching students songs they want to learn, and initiate this early in the process, as opposed to teaching nursery rhyme melodies for two years as many teachers do.
- Once the basics are covered I ask you to bring in your favorite music, and I teach you to play it, even if it's a simplified version. This creates a high level of motivation.
- Even though the songs may be classic rock or modern country I teach music theory as well and make sure the student knows the "why" as well as the "how".
- Of course we have to cover the basics: technique, chords, chord progressions, melody, harmony, but much of this can be achieved directly through learning songs the student wants to learn.
Don't look too hard for a teacher now, you've already found him. So what are you waiting for? Stop reading this and call me already. :) Ha!!! It's all about learning, playing and getting immersed in music, so come on over, and let's have some fun. Thank you so much for reading through my profile here. I'm really looking forward to hearing from you. All the best.
