This Mexican tenor was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where he has performed in Teatro Degollado the roles of Messenger-Servant from La Traviata and Saboyano from Zarzuela Luisa Fernanda with the Jalisco Phillarmonic.
He won a full scholarship to study at Rice University in Houston for the Masters Program, where he worked with Dr. Joyce Farwell, and graduated in 2004.
In 2002 Mr. Rodriguez won the first place in the NATS Competition Texoma Region. He has performed the tenor solo in the Beethoven Ninth Symphony with the Rice Symphony conducted by Larry Rachlef.
He sang the role of Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Arturo in Lucia di Lamermoor, Edmondo in Manon Lescaut and Trabuco in La Forza del Destino with Opera in the Heights, as well as Luigi in Il Tabarro at the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in Giffoni and Mercato S. Severino Italy, Brigella in Ariadne auf Naxos at The Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina.
He joined the Amarillo Opera Company as an Apprentice in 2004 and 2005, as well as an Artist in Residence.
In July 2007 he performed Tamino in The Magic Flute in Minori Italy.
In November 2007 he performed Basilio for Opera in the Heights in Houston Texas.
I work in vocal technique (vocalizing and breath control) and repertoire (a piece of the student selection which I can provide and or advise about) in a friendly and supportive enviroment.
