Vocal Lessons
My goal is to help my students develop their honest, authentic voice, in strength and in accuracy, and toward whichever style of expression they wish to go!
As I am a performance based, and performing artist myself, I am a very practical teacher: I listen to each student, to their intentions, their voice, and tailor the sessions to open and strengthen the voice according to their specific goals.
Whether you want to tune and easy up for a jazz set, to sing with strength and safety in a rock band, vocal agility, smooth the breaks in your voice, develop your range, performance skills with and without accompaniment, or just the very joy of singing for yourself or your loved ones, we will be building foundations from which you can soar!
The first lesson with me begins with listening to what you already do (in terms of vocal strength, accuracy, breathing etc) and what you wish to achieve. From there, our work together takes the most direct road to your goals.
Oh, and though I am absolutely serious about what we do, lessons with me are fun and often full of laughter! But be warned, I have an Australian sense of humor.....:-))
Guitar lessons:
I am going to be of most value to those who wish to learn to play along with their singing, or to learn chords, rhythm guitar, fingerpicking or strumming, as that is what I do myself!
i do not specialize in styles such as lead guitar, jazz lead guitar and flamenco.
I specialize in development, strengthening and freeing of the voice, to allow students to develop and express their chosen style of music. I work with voice, ear development and general musicality across most contemporary genres, including rock, jazz, folk, ballad, whether singing for performance or for personal enjoyment.
I do not teach show tunes or opera - just so you know!
