"He is a great guitar player and I have already learned alot from him. Look forward to the next..."I have been around music my whole life. I enjoy it more than anything else. I started playing the piano when i was 4 and I have never stopped. since then I took up guitar and saxophone, learning both extremely quickly and profieciently. I also have taken lessons for each instrument, so I know how a good lesson should be like. I am still a student at Sam Barlow High School, I am also taking classes at Mt. Hood Community College. The majority of those classes are music based. These classes have taught me not only how play an instrument musically, but also the theory behind the music. Also I have plenty of experience teaching. My student(s) view me as a hard working dilligent teacher that listens. To sum me up, I love music!
My lessons are fairly strict, but at the same time I teach in a way that makes the student feel at ease. I try to make sure the student is having fun, because music is fun! Each week I'll emphasize what I from him/her the following week, and if they fail my expectations I wont pat him/her on the back for it. Of course though I don't set unrealistic expectations. My lesson plan may seem a little harsh but I have taken lessons from all sorts of teachers and I find that the best are the strict ones. For a standard 30 mintue lesson I'll start off with teaching him/her music theory and their ever important scales. Ill show them what needs to be learned and give them pointers of how to learn it. After that I'll go into a piece of music to learn, this music piece is usually a piece they have chosen so they actually like it and feel motivated to learn it. Again I'll go over that piece and show them what needs to be learned and give pointers on how to learn it. This type of lesson plan is beneficial because the student not only has fun learning a piece of their choice but they also learn music theory which, to many, is unbearably boring. I try to keep it fun though so they actually like to practice. In 3 to 6 months the student will have learned all basic theory and have a plethora of music to show off to friends and family.
I can teach all sorts of math. I am also very proficient in a variety of musical instruments though i prefer to teach guitar.
