I have been playing piano since I was 6. It is my passion and a great source of joy in my life! In 2006, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. While in school I accompanied choirs, played for recitals, and did extensive work composing and analyzing classical and sacred pieces. I've taught off and on over the last 5 years. A number of my students have won National Merit awards at various competitions around the country and continue to play for public events on a regular basis. I love teaching and promise to give a fun and relaxed piano lesson where you learn what YOU want to learn!

I am a big proponent of teaching the basics in my lessons but emphasizing the areas of most interest to the student. I am very laid back and my teaching style is relaxed allowing time for the student to really grasp concepts. I want to make sure the student ENJOYS taking piano lessons and develops a real love, not just for piano, but for music across the board. I use a variety of Alfred products and have enjoyed great success with his curriculum. By 3-4 months my students should feel comfortable reading notes and should be well on there way to becoming a great pianist!

I specialize in sacred and classical music and enjoy teaching how to read music and also how to play by ear.
