Hi!  Thanks for taking the time to check out my bio.  I have been playing the guitar for over 33 years.  I began receiving private instruction when I was nine-years-old.  I've played both rhythm and lead guitar in a band, wrote and performed a song for my graduation ceremony, performed at weddings, clubs, and various other gatherings.  I have studied both guitar and music theory, and specialize in fingerpicking and slide guitar.  My musical influences vary greatly- seventies-style rock, Delta blues, country, bluegrass, and even a bit of classical and ragtime. 

I have earned a Bachelor's Degree, worked as an airline pilot for several years, and travelled extensively, but the one common thread throughout my life has been my music.  I have always found time to play music, record it, perform it, and (of course) teach it.  My passion and enthusiasm for teaching you or your child is my personal guarantee.  My goal is for you to enjoy playing music as much as I do.     

I have found that the most important quality an instructor can have is the ability to listen to their student.  Learning to play an instrument shouldn't be a chore.  You will learn the basics (as expected), but you will also learn to play the songs that YOU want to learn.  It is my job to not only help you improve your playing ability, but also to keep you interested.  Once you communicate your musical goals to me, I will give you my best effort at helping you to achieve them.
