My name is Jonathan and I'm 25 years old.  I've been playing the guitar since I was 11.  That's about 14 years.  I've played guiter, bass, and keyboards in a number of bands over the years.  I attended UNC Asheville where I received a B.S. in Music Technology.  I performed in jazz bands, studied classical theory, performed in classical guitar ensembles, and worked non-stop in the music recording studio. 

I've tought lots of students over the years, beginning with friends and classmates in high school.  From there I went to summer camps and tought children 10-17 years of age, but I'm not limited to just those ages.  I currently work in the music industry as a sound designer and composer. 

My teaching instruction differs from student to student.  I begin with observing where a student is when they begin with me and where do they want to go as a guitar player.  I teach technique, theory, and listening practices with each student.  Some students want to learn to read music and others want to learn how to sound like their favorite guitar hero.  Whatever the student desires I help them achieve that.  I look forward to teaching you!

I am a very laid back instructor, yet I have a drive to get things accomplished.  I push each student as much as I feel they need pushing.  We have fun in lessons, while learning everything about the guitar and music.

Depending on what the student wants to achieve, we'll begin with guitar fundamentals.   We may start in a lesson book or a beginning reading practices.  But we may also just listen to music and learn how to play from just using our ears.  It all depends.  I'm very flexible.  I'm good spiritied and just enjoy passing on what I've learning in music to others with the hunger to learn. 

After a few months of lessons, the student will be on their way to becoming the guitar player they've always dreamed.  We'll be playing songs and jamming together.  The student will know all the basics of the guitar and music and will have developed a love for music that will last a lifetime.
