"Renee is an awesome piano teacher. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better teacher. If..."Renee is a classically trained singer with a long-standing love for popular and broadway styles. She has eight operatic roles and five musical theater roles to her credit so far, and her singing has taken her across the U.S. and to Europe. Before deciding to make the voice her primary instrument, she studied the clarinet intensively, playing many solo works and in honor ensembles. A well-rounded musician, she also plays the piano and the acoustic guitar. An award-winning songwriter, she is well-equipped to teach the fundamentals of songwriting and music theory. As a board-certified music therapist, she has experience working with exceptional learners, and tailoring musical experiences to meet therapeutic needs. Renee holds a teaching credential in music, and is pursuing a Master of Music degree at the Universityof Southern California.

Singing lessons focus on building a foundation of healthy vocal technique. Depending on your goals, lessons will include classical, popular, inspirational, and/or musical theater styles. In classical repertoire, we will practice the pronunciation of Italian, Latin, French, German, and Spanish. Depending on your musical background and goals, these lessons will also include pitch memory (solfeggio) and music reading to develop a well-rounded musician.
Clarinet lessons range from beginning through high school level, including embouchure and tone production, fingering, scales, etudes and methods, solo repertoire, and ensemble repertoire.
Piano and guitar lessons, tailored to the student's age and goals, emphasize healthy technique and complete musicianship skills in an enjoyable environment.
Music theory and songwriting are learned most effectively when using an instrument such as guitar or piano, and the two subjects are learned especially well when studied together!
In singing lessons, I work first to build healthy use of the voice. In terms of musical genres, I work with classical technique, musical theater, and other popular styles.
